What do you mean when you download it, it goes to Adobe? Do you mean just clicking download opens Adobe? And what Adobe would that be? Flash, Photoshop, ImageReady? If not the download button itself, what are clicking to start Ib? Sorry, just a bit more detail is needed to help.

I see your problem, you need to download an application that can open .rar files such as 7-zip or winrar, since you do not have them, it is trying to open up the file with adobe, you need to download 7-zip or winrar to open the file.

1) download 7-zip or winrar

2) once installed, right click on IB file and click "open with"

3) it should say winrar or 7-zip automatically, but if it doesnt click on "choose default program"

4) go to browse and go to Computer> C: > Program files(x86) And find the 7-zip or winrar file

5) click on folder and select application

6) you can now open the Ib folder and run the game c:

Hello Sarah,

It appears you are trying the launch the game while it is still compressed in the .rar file. Please right click on the .rar file you download and "Extract" it into another folder and then launch the game. This error is common when some people, like yourself, do not extract it from it's compressed state.

Hope this helps you :)

Likely means you're missing the file "RGP_RT". Try this:

http://www.4shared.com/file/_2bnpFMU/RPG_RT.html

Or simply try googling "RGP_RT download" and then unzip the file if necessary and put it into the Ib folder.

I looked at her picture she posted with the error, "c:\users\sarah"

I was looking at the error and seeing where the file was missing exactly, it's in the appdata folder which is almost hidden unless you specifically search for it. Ib is searching for a file there for some reason and I think it's because she didn't extract the game.

Right-Click (or when downloading, open with) and click Extract Here. All the files(hopefully you extracted it into a folder) should appear then. Install RPG maker with RTPMaker then launch RPG_RT.

I'm more of a person who helps by "showing not telling". Feels easier that way. Nonetheless, make sure you extract ib.rar(all its files) into one folder, so you dont have a mess of files everywhere.

How I organized mine

Spoiler Spoiler

Create a new folder, rename it ib, and extract all files from ib.rar to the new folder.
