How was Pewdie's start?

Hello guys, im from Brazil sorry for my English :)

Well i discovered Pewdie a few days ago and it's impossible to not like the way he plays and in a few days i've become a bro...:)
Fortunately or unfortunately (i have to discover) i live in Brazil and here we don't have a famous funny play through gameplayer, i don't know if no one ever tried or brazillians don't give a shit and don't watch this things. I tried to do some facecam play through but to me is so hard because i'm too self critical and always seems that i' artificial but i'm working on it, also i think that i'm afraid with what my friends will think about me and thats freaks me out so i have to try to deal with it too. So I have some questions to see if I gain a little bit more confidence

Did annyone follow since the begining? Did he start slowly with just a few viwers? When he realy got a huge number of viwers?

And you guys who have youtube channels, how do you deal with this things i discribed about me?

Thak you! :P

Eh I have no facial expressions per se. Like my mouth makes the reactions but the rest of my face is motionless except maybe for a little eye widening. But hell I just go with it.

I'll bet that it was hard for anyone who started making Youtube videos to get started. You just have to keep doing what you're doing. You'll get better eventually and hopefully you'll get a reasonably-sized audience.

Don't aim to have a million subscribers, instead aim small and increase your goals as you go. It's okay to be optimistic, but there's also a such thing as being too optimistic.

Hopefully that will be helpful for you.

Look for me I try hard but the things that make you a good commentator is:
1-do not look at how you play I mean for an example Nova when he plays he dies so much that sometimes he become a failure in a game but that is because he concentrate more on making the video to get more views.
2-personal opinion of me:I myself never tell my friends about my channel cause they will laugh about you.
3-Well that is obvious I think but you should think of your personality so that it goes with your videos as for example Pewdiepie he has a funny personality and get scared so Horror games are good for him.
4-It does not matter where you are from as I am from Egypt and You know what I know there is nobody who make playthrough in my country but I liked it.
5-Try to concentrate on games as not so so so so popular like call of duty and not unpopular as no one knows that game and try to come with games which are recently released and you know the most important in my opinion is getting better equipment like better microphone better Hd camera better pc so that you can play new games and if you have bad equipment as me you will be nothing.

Everyone started small , even Pewdiepie. Don't expect he had like tons of viewers right away.

PewDiePie singing a really random song :O

I think his big break was when he started doing Amnesia when Amnesia became really big. People love jumpscares.

I was a bro since he had 10K subs. I don't know what came to my mind but I've watched all of his vids.o.o Except the dead space playthrough.:D He's just fun to watch.xD

Anyways, ofc he started small, he then showed his epic personality that improved overtime. And look at him now.xD

I know him almost from the beginning, and he started small, just like everyone else. He made Balck Ops commentaries daily even though he hadn't that many people watching them, just because it was fun for him. He slowly started to grow and then tried out Amnesia, which influenced his channel to be like it is now.

Was one of his first hundred, back in the days. His community and subscribers has become the worst I've ever seen. Now these shitholes are starting to subscribe to Cry, which I was one of his first ten subscribers.

Downvote the truth, hell yeah!

Hey bros! Thats exactly what I am/was interested to find out, so, I will leave this text here, in case someone interested might read it.

I started too not long before, 3 months more exactly but that is when I made the account, I actually started going gaming videos some time after. First were really bad, the footage was too small, I had black bars the sides and top and down of the screen, I was using a crappy mic and I didn`t know what to talk about.
Now, I started removing those videos, well, I made them private. They are kind of a shame, :), but they are there, only for me to watch when I feel like give up, because they reminded me how long I have improved in such a short way.

I started small, and I still am, with only friends as subscribers, friends who didn`t even watched my videos but they subscribed to help me out(now they like my videos too). Then I started taking feedback from a viewer or two who actually took some of their precious time and left me a comment telling me "look, this is not good, do this instead", which I very much appreciate. Now I got to 40 subscribers which really makes me happy and motivates me to do more...

I am honest and I say that some of my newest subscribers are actually bros, which kinda makes me feel weird. Why? Well, because I osmehow feel like I didn`t earn them, I feel like I stole PewDiePie`s subscribers. Even tho it`s not true. But I really love the bros who subscribed to my channel, they are friendly and I like how they tell me whats good and whats bad about my videos.

So hopefully atleast someone read this and I hope he got a better understanding on how things go.

yeah bro I read!

It's cool, some of your viwers are realy helping you and that is the most important it means that they realy like you!

I think the worst part of making these videos for me are the comments I never know what to talk about and I have no privacy in home so I get too nervous lol
Today is the third day trying to record and I'm kind frustrated but I like the ideia of making these videos, every night i give up but every moning I'm so motivated to do it.

I hope that with time it's become easier and natural, thanks for the help.

First thing is practice, everyone needs it. Then comes self promotion, which is what I think to be the hardest part. I had to basically ask friends to subscribe at the start. Now I promote my videos on here, and I`m glad some of you bros like them, and on the communities of the games I make videos of.

Exactly what I was after. How ironic based on your replies, some of you really took me serious.

Well, sarcasm is usually either funny or obvious, and yours was neither. Hence the confusion!
